Pastor John Ortiz is a passionate revivalist, visionary leader, and servant of God who carries a heart for awakening, transformation, and the manifest presence of Jesus. At the age of 18, John had a life-altering encounter with the power of God that ignited a burning desire within him to see lives radically changed by the Holy Spirit. From that moment, he surrendered his life completely to Christ and began a journey of faith, obedience, and service.

For over a decade, Pastor John served faithfully in various ministry roles—youth leader, church planter, mentor, and worship leader—earning the respect and love of both leaders and congregations. His commitment to God's call, deep love for the local church, and hunger for revival laid the foundation for the next chapter of his ministry.

In 2014, driven by a vision to see people gathered in God’s presence and empowered to live Spirit-filled lives, Pastor John and his family launched The Gathering Place—a church birthed out of prayer, obedience, and a prophetic mandate. Since its inception, The Gathering Place has become a vibrant hub of revival, healing, and restoration in the region, equipping believers to live out their faith boldly and supernaturally.

With a bold preaching style, a prophetic edge, and a shepherd’s heart, Pastor John continues to raise up revivalists, reformers, and leaders for this generation. His life is marked by authenticity, integrity, and a relentless pursuit of God’s glory.

Pastor John resides in Southeast Texas with his family and continues to lead Revive Church in Nederland, Texas (formerly The Gathering Place) with vision, passion, and unwavering faith in the power of Jesus to change lives.
